Record-Courier staff report After impressive showings in his first three preseason games, Cleveland quarterback Jake Delhomme will be absent from tonight’s final preseason game at Cleveland Browns Stadium against the Chicago Bears. Also being held out for precautionary purposes will be backup QB Seneca Wallace, which will apparently open up the door to rookie Colt McCoy. McCoy has had a less than impressive preseason and drew the wrath of head coach Eric Mangini after last week’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions. Despite Cleveland’s 1-2 record in the preseason, the team has shown signs of improvement from last year and most of it has started with Delhomme and the offense. The offense has an identity courtesy of Delhomme, while wide receivers Josh Cribbs, Mohamed Massaquoi and Brian Robiskie, along with tight ends Evan Moore and Ben Watson have looked solid. The emergence of running back Peyton Hillis has been arguably the biggest positive for the Browns.
