Mission Statement

"As the principal executive organization of county government, the Board of Commissioners, along with its departments, is committed both to providing efficient government and to promoting the welfare and strategic development of the Portage County Community" This is not being upheld and it's way overdue that these guys need relieved of their duties. Case in point is the fiasco with the recycle center and the way it is being deliberately sabotaged by the commissioners puppet Bill Stein. They can try to blame the economy all they want (they always have even during prosperous times)but the bottom line is poor supervision and management.
The recycle center has always been self supporting paying it's bills and employees out of the money it has made through the sales of the recyclables. The commissioners and other highly overpaid morons in the county get paid straight out of the taxpayers dollars. What are you seeing for your investment Portage county taxpayers? Is it growth and improvement or true hardworking folks getting laid off and threats of closing down operations like the recycle center that benefit our environment and provide many good jobs and benefits.
Is the welfare and strategic development of the Portage County Community being helped or hampered? Take action and contact your local congressman to let him know what is going on. Make your voice be heard and get rid of the riff raff that is destroying your proud community.

The two commissioners in question are getting paid yet, they can't help fund Townhall II-clinic as they always have.
The whole thing about the recycle center is that they do support themselves and Keiper and Smeiles are dipping into that money too. Get Smeiles out before his retirement age as he plans on staying so he can draw full benefits.

I am not clear on the means of impeachment of a local official. Mr. Keiper is up for re-election. The Primary Elections will be held on May 4, 2010 and Mr. Keiper will be facing the challenge of Vicki Kline. While impeachment would undoubtedly take a good deal of time, a defeat in the primaries would rid us of this public servant in short order.

Mark your calenders for May 4, 2010 and lets get behing Ms. Kline.
