The Catholic War Veterans, Post 1325, Our Lady of Lourdes, were treated to a very special Veteran's Day breakfast at St. Joseph School in Randolph. The students at the school participated in many events to help prepare for the day. All of the classes made tokens of appreciation for the veterans. Mrs. Joanne Pasko's 3rd grade class sang songs for all those in attendance, which was the highlight of the day, according to Joe Olenick, Commander of Post 1325. Also, the Veterans paid special thanks to the 8th grade class for all of their hard work and preparation for the special event.

Judy Knapp, Hot Lunch Coordinator and co-originator of the Veteran's Day Breakfast along with parent helper Linda Wise, did an outstanding job preparing the menu which consisted of homemade scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, French toast casserole, bacon, fruit, pastries, juice, and coffee..

The Catholic War Veterans play a significant role in the functions of both the school and church. One of their main responsibilities is caring for Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto and garden located behind St. Joseph Parish. In addition, the Vets have built the Grotto store, provide school supplies to both the school and the Parish CCD classes and hold various essay and poster contests throughout the year for the students at St. Joseph's. This year, the Catholic War Veterans made a generous monetary donation to the school's Adopt a Student fund and its teacher's salary fund with the profits from their annual Oktoberfest.
