The Portage County Drug Task force arrested two people after two separate incidents of drugs being sold to undercover agents, one in Brimfield, one in Ravenna Township, Sheriff David Doak said.
Arrested were Tina Cottrell, 44, of 171 Cedar Ave., Ravenna, and Lewis Askew, 41, of Barberton.
Cottrell allegedly sold bindles of heroin valued at $200 to agents at a business on S.R. 59 in Ravenna Township.She was charged with trafficking in heroin, a fifth-degree felony. Additional charges are pending.
During the arrest, officers recovered additional heroin, hypodermic needles, and drug paraphernalia. She already was on probation for a drug trafficking charge.
Askew allegedly sold more than seven grams of crack cocaine to undercover agents at a business in the 4200 block of S.R. 43, Brimfield. The drugs had a street value of $500.
He was charged with trafficking in cocaine, a third-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools. If convicted of the charges, he faces up to five and a half years in prison, Doak said.
