Jackie Lee Simms, 51, passed away March 12, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jackie was an avid outdoorsman, a member of the NRA, and enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie P. Jackie is survived by his daughters, Sharis Peppeard, and Tabitha Atkinson; son, Immanuel Bowen Simms; grandchildren, Destyne, Skylar, and Kadyn; mother, Bernadine Garrett; brothers, Ken Simms, Ronald Simms, John Simms, Steve Simms, Norman Simms, David Simms, and Jason Simms; sister, Sandra Rose; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 16, from 9 to 10 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 10 am with Pastor Virgil Elkins officiating.
