The Kent Irish Festival/Bras Across the Crooked River event sponsored by the Celtic Club will take place at Home Savings Bank Plaza in Kent on Sept. 11 and will benefit the American Cancer Society. Marisa Manocchio is the honorary chairperson. In conjunction with this event, the Celtic Club is starting a bra donation drive. Brand new, unused bras may be donated at a variety of locations throughout the area including Thursday's Kent State home football game at Dix Stadium. The football team named Marisa the honorary team captain for 2010 and presented her with an autographed team jersey. The bras will be given to Breast Oasis, an organization that benefits victims of natural disasters and battered women's shelters.
