Kent police are investigating another possible robbery that occurred Friday evening on Mulberry Court in the Holly Park apartment complex off East Main Street.

Kent police Lt. Jayme Cole said a 22-year-old male reported being held up at gunpoint. The suspect allegedly showed a handgun and made off with some of the victim’s property.

Cole would not say what was taken from the victim and had no other information, saying only that the incident is under investigation by Kent police detectives.

“The circumstances of this robbery do not indicate any kind of link with other reported robberies” over this past weekend, he said.

The suspect was described as a black male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall.

Friday’s incident brings to five the number of reported victims of robberies in the city and on the Kent State University campus over the weekend.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday morning, two KSU students reported being held at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Silver Oaks apartment complex off Loop Road and robbed by three suspects driving a gray, four-door Ford Contour.

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning, two more KSU students were robbed, this time on campus by four suspects in the area of the Art Building.

KSU police have arrested three KSU students and one juvenile, who is not a student, in connection with that incident.

Of course the perp is another black male. It's time we the hard working honest people of Portage county say enough is enough. For having such a small percentage of our population being black for some reason they seem to commit a very large percentage of the serious crimes. I know, I know it all goes back to the injustices of 250 years ago, they haven't been given equal opportunities, they were raised in a single family home with no father (because he was in prison or MAMMA didn't know which brother fathered her sixth child. This is becoming a race issue and the blacks are bringing it on themselves, act like animals and be looked on as animals. Then again my dog hasn't beaten to death, committed armed robbery or sold crack to anybody as far as I know.

What is the apartment complex doing about this? Seems they like to pretend these things don't happen so that they can feel good about advertising a "safe" living environment. Why are the building security entry systems not working? Where is security? This happened in early evening! Armed robbers are having a heyday at this apartment complex. Sounds like a great lawsuit for this 22 year old male. Maybe if Holly Park Apartments is held accountable they will finally step up. Their reputation can't get any worse. Maybe having to shell out some $'s to cover victims loss, pain and suffering will do the trick.

This is getting crazy. I've stopped counting the number of armed robberies or assaults in Kent.

Did they say the perp was a Black Male, again?

Come to Kent Jessie Jackson, we gots problems here that need your attention. Too many victims are picking on minorities. They must be lying.
