Portage County residents have a couple of ways to spend this weekend. The 45th annual St. Joseph's Ox Roast Fair and the 49th annual Portage County Charity Horse Show both kicked off Friday and continue through Sunday. Mike Levanduski of Hiram and a member of St. Joseph Church, serves the festival's famous ox roast to Shirley Smith, who made a 45-minute motorcycle ride from Lordstown to Mantua. The Ox Roast Fair continues from 3 to 11 p.m. today and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Anita Smith of Canton and her horse Intimidator were the Class 1 blue ribbon winners on the first day of the horse show at SunBeau Valley Farm on S.R. 59 in Ravenna Township. The show continues from noon to 10:30 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5. Admission is free for children age 12 and under.
